Preface to my website.
I recognise that building a personal website is, by
definition, an exercise in narcissism. In recognition of this
definition, I have endeavoured to keep the shameless self-promotion to a
minimum whilst retaining the characteristics of a personal web site.
My
Guiding Dictum
Some would argue what
the, "First Rule of Science" actually is. Einstein essentially
said it was, "Get the facts right!". Descartes said that, "All
true judgement depends on reason". I fall in line with what I
learned as science's first rule: "Does the hypothesis clearly represent
that which is observed in all aspects?"
Oppenheimer said that for
a theory to be valid and useful, it has to accurately predict a
happening, not just explain an observation. To this end, I
endeavour to espouse thoughts and ideas which meet this standard.
The last part which applies here is that it is often the most robust
option, that which endures the assault of other theorem, that is most
likely closest to fact.
The Content of this
Site
This web site is also an attempt to place some of
"my"
thoughts before a wider community. Hopefully something
positive will come from it.
Whilst the written content is essentially original work
by myself, many - if not all - of the ideas are most definitely not. In an infinite Universe, it is unlikely in extremis that there can truly
be anything original, just original to that thinker at that time.
Many minds greater than mine have over the years
examined our macro and micro existence and many more theories than these
have been recorded. This set of principles are simply the ones that are most logical
to me, fulfilling the dual requirements of observation and prediction
required by science.
A
Challenge!
Intellectual honesty is a hard meter and I challenge
both myself and you, my guest, to recognise the need for intellectual
honesty. To this end, please only send in feedback of a constructive
nature, not just nay-saying. If you have a problem or disagreement
with something, please offer an alternative point of view which is
logically or physically demonstrable. If you have a problem with
something said, offer a solution too.
An Open Invitation
I have purposely kept high bandwidth content out of
this site to enable those with narrowband connections access without
waiting for silly periods for pages to load. Most images are line
drawings and very low colour or black and white to achieve this.
If you have something that you think would be
suitable for inclusion on this site, please feel free to email me and
describe or submit your work for inclusion. Also include a statement
verifying that it is your original work or credit the sources please.
I'm going to be building a links page like those on my other sites.
for the time being, please feel free to go and have a look at my main
business site, Ashmore Health
Centre. My other businesses include
Australian Thermal Imaging
and advice sites like the Australian
GenF20 hGH site.
My Personal Goals
My belief is that a goal must be placed into the world for it to happen
in a grand way; to this end my goal list is thus:
To secure a suitable property on which to establish a
shamanic practices centre where a sacred space is formed and held for
those seeking their own healing run solely on a gift/donation basis.
To secure sufficient resources to travel and sponsor travel for the purposes of
documenting, researching
and learning of shamanic and traditional practices the world over, with
all research being placed into a situation of open license to prevent
trade-marking and patenting of traditional terms and practices.
To establish a public trust of shamanic teachings,
wisdoms and techniques as a central repository, preserving and
furthering shamanic traditions and knowledge worldwide, again run on a
gift/donation only basis.

Quotes and sayings of some
of my heroes and role models in no particular order:
Of course I love everyone I meet. How could I fail to? Within
everyone is the spark of God. I am not concerned with racial or
ethnic background or the colour of one's skin; all people look
to me like shining lights!
-- Peace Pilgrim
The most beautiful thing we
can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all
science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to
wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
--Albert Einstein
We can easily forgive a child
who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men are afraid
of the light
--Plato
Holding on to anger is like
grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you
are the one getting burned.
--Buddha
Isn't it strange that I who
have written only unpopular books should be such a popular fellow?
--Albert Einstein
The hardest part about gaining
any new idea is sweeping out the false idea occupying that niche. As long
as that niche is occupied, evidence and proof and logical demonstration
get nowhere. But once the niche is emptied of the wrong idea that has been
filling it - once you can honestly say, I don't know, then it becomes
possible to get at the truth.
--Robert A. Heinlein
Do not be too moral. You may
cheat yourself out of much life so. Aim above morality. Be not simply
good; be good for something.
--Henry David Thoreau
By all means marry. If you get a
good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a
philosopher and that is a good thing for any man.
--Socrates
Many ideas grow better when
transplanted into another mind than in the one they where they sprang up.
--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
Righteousness is good
morality, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul and which you
dislike people finding out about.
--Mohammed
Be the change you want to see
in the world.
--Mahatma Gandhi
Never try to teach a pig to
sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig.
-- Robert A Heinlein
The secret to creativity is
knowing how to hide your sources.
--Albert Einstein
Words have the power to both
destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our
world.
--Buddha
The weak can never forgive.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
--Mahatma Gandhi
Let him who would move the
world first move himself.
--Socrates
It has become appallingly
obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.
--Albert Einstein (after the Manhattan project)
Father, forgive them, for they
know not what they do.
--Jesus Christ
Success is not the key to
happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are
doing, you will be successful.
--Albert Schweitzer
If you can't feed a hundred
people, then feed just one.
--Mother Teresa
I like to see a man proud of
the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place
will be proud of him.
--Abraham Lincoln
First they ignore you, then
they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
--Mahatma Gandhi
Few are those who see with
their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
--Albert Einstein
Women and cats will do as they
please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
--Robert A. Heinlein
The tragedy of life is what
dies inside a man while he lives.
--Albert Schweitzer
They that can give up
essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither
liberty or safety.
--Benjamin Franklin
